Free lunch (but not so palatable)

Along with other backup software I used Genie Backup until (ironically) my machine crashed and I was unable to locate the CD (which had come as a free version on the cover of a magazine). It has a couple of features which I like, for example plugins to backup up specific software and associated config and registry entries (e.g., Dreamweaver).

I was pleased to see it again this weekend on the cover of PC Pro but disappointed in equal measure when I discovered the CD has been accidentally glued into the spine of the magazine and it came out damaged.

Now, I know a know a man with a subscription to the mag, so I organised a copy by FTP.

This month’s software is version 4 but the one I had 18 months ago was version 6.
