Since the early days of Windows when we had a number of test machines without mice (they were going to be installed and left that way as POS servers) a group of us ‘grew up’ using the keyboard in place of the mouse. Whilst I have largely fallen back to the mouse over the years, I just can’t seem to get out of the habit of Alt-Tab for application switching. This can actually be quite hard work when there are lots of apps running.
It was only this morning that it dawned on me how long it is since I’ve used the task bar except for the system tray and the start button, which more often than not I get with Ctrl-Esc in favour of the mouse, even though there’s been a ‘Windows’ button on every keyboard for more than a decade (probably longer).
