Rather irritatingly my version of Norton Ghost could not be actiavted after a machine rebuild as the online registration stated I’d exceeded the number of permitted activations. Tech support first dismissed my request to fix it stating that the product version was no longer supported (though what that has to do with the right to use it I do not know).
Not wishing to give up I got back in the ‘live chat’ queue for what I expected to be about forty minutes but turned out to be just a couple – Sunday is obviously a good time to get your online support from Symantec.
Anyway the technical assistant over in Asia didn’t give me the usual runaround by repeating my questions and asking for all manner of irrelevant details, but simply requested the product key.
After about one more minute I got the rather delightful response:
“I have done the needful”
