A sad farewell to Pax

Pax's last daySadly this was taken just a few hours before Packington (Pax) had his last of many visits to the vet, when he was finally put to sleep in Lydia’s arms.

On leaving the vet’s Lydia asked me to turn right on a road we had only ever been part-way down (as going straight home didn’t feel right). Eventually the road passed a house which we had tried to buy just before our current one. That was the first surprise. Lydia asked me to stop at a pub in the middle of nowhere so we could sit and talk. The beer was called “Copper Dragon” (Pax’s coat goes copper in the summer and his nickname is the “black dragon”). The pub had a table which was covered in pottery and other ornamental cats. Once we’d set off again the road took us through the countryside and straight past the only other house we had been so close to buying before Hill View. Packington is already desperately missed.

There will be more photos to follow in the next few days at Pax’s very own photo set
